Frank Coppola Jr. is the defending driving champion at Saratoga and has returned in peak form in 2009. Coppola again proved why he is atop the standings on Saturday as the talented reinsman recorded seven wins within the two racing cards on the day. The second and final scheduled doubleheader took place at Saratoga Gaming and Raceway on Saturday and the meet's leading driver padded his lead in the standings. An afternoon grand slam highlighted the day for Coppola as he recorded wins with mares Sand Feathers, Avacal Bliss, Grayter Raider and Noreen. Coppola came back at night with another hat trick, piloting Skitsofrantic, Seeshark and All Over The Place to wins under the lights. Billy Dobson, who has made quite an impact in his first season at Saratoga, was in town and bookended Saturday with wins in the matinee opener and the evening finale. The 24-year-old Dobson, who has been driving part time at Saratoga since the meet opened in March, recorded driving doubles in both the afternoon and night time cards as well. (Saratoga)
