Shady Sabrina enjoyed a perfect trip on the way to a 1:53.1 victory in the $22,000 filly and mare winners-over pace at Dover Downs on the Veteran's day card on Tuesday. Ladyfield and longshot Seamstresforthepan won the $18,000 distaff paces.

With Riley Rose cutting out a smart pace, Ron Pierce sat second driving Lorna Cohen's Shady Sabrina, until midstretch when the Cam's Dignity-Mymymysharona 6 year old came to the outside and quickly took the lead with Irenenonthmove and Corey Callahan rolling down the passing lane. At the wire, Shady Sabrina was the 1:53.1 winner with Ireneonthemove second. Riley Rose and Tim Tetrick was a close third.

The win was the second straight for Shady Sabrina after three consecutive second-place finishes. Her 11th win pushed seasonal earning to $102,995.

In the first of two $18,000 female pace sub-features, Ladyfield got back into the winner's circle for the first time since last June. The sport's leading driver Tony Morgan waited patiently until the three-quarter mark before pulling to the outside and then rolling three wide around the final turn before edging past runner-up pacesetting Sixteen Candles (Bob Kinsey Jr.) and pulling away in 1:53.3. The win ups 5-year-old Ladyfield's (Armbro-Cadet-Tally Almahurst) bankroll to $57,300 this year for owners Joyce, Kathleen and Linda Keeler.

In a night of longshot winners, Kathy Davis' Seamstresforthepan turned in a 1:52.4 upset in a second $18,000 distaff pace. Allan Davis hustled the 6-year-old The Firepan-Teamtress Hanover mare out of third in the lane and streaked home for her sixth win of 2008. The Martin Davis-conditioned mare has now earned $95,130 this season. Betting Machine (Jim Morand) came on strong to finish second in front of Fantasy Winner (Ross Wolfenden).

On Veteran's Day, Dover Downs saluted members of the valiant members of the Military Order of the Purple Heart in the winner's circle after Roxie Lee N scored a 1:54.2 victory; the second of three Pierce winning drives. (Dover Downs)
