February 01, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Shake Away, a 6-year-old mare by Dream Away, won again Tuesday night in the fillies and mares Open Pace at Dover Downs in 1:52.3.

After being upset last week by rival Apache Dame, trainer-driver Jim King Jr. steered Shake Away to the lead from post position five and never looked back, being ahead by four lengths most of the race.

Apache Dame (Tony Morgan) came first-over to take second and Ann Other Porsche (Brad Hanners) closed in :27.4 for third. Pacific Illusion (Les Givens) finished fourth but was placed sixth for going inside the pylons in the final turn.

The win is Shake Away's fourth in five starts in 2006.
