Shake, baby shake!

The fast miles at Dover continued Tuesday as Shake Away scored a near-wire-to-wire win in the $27,500 Mares Open pace in 1:51 and Binions came on sharply to take the $23,000 Mares Jr. Open in 1:51.4. Drivers Tony Morgan and Tim Tetrick were red hot as Morgan drove five winners and Tetrick three, with Sam Beegle training two winners.

Jim King driving Shake Away took no prisoners on the way to a 1:51 victory in the week's distaff feature. After taking the lead past the opening panel, Shake Away was briefly challenged by I'm All In and Ron Pierce, then on the backstretch by the Morgan-driven Ultimate Bet who could get no closer than a half-length at the wire. Riddlemethat with Corey Callahan finished third.

The win was the second in three races for Shake Away who was overlooked at 9-1 odds. The 1:51 clocking equaled the Dream Away 7 year old's career best set earlier in the meet.

Newman Racing Stable's Binions rolled down the passing lane with Jim Morand to catch front-pacing Dream-A-While and Art Stafford Jr. in the final strides for a 1:51.2 triumph, her second win in a row. Ain't Goin Back could not get out until late but Ben Stafford Jr. shook her free to get up for third.

In the first of two $17,000 mares winners-over paces Casino Bus rolled down the passing lane to beat Hopefull N (Brandon Givens) who had circled the field from past to first from the half to lead turning for home. The final time was 1:53 giving Cavalli Pazzi Stables' Village Jove 4 year old her third win of the year. Hopefull N absorbed her first loss after winning her first two North American starts. Lady Best (Roger Plante) cut out the early fractions and finished third.

Neal Oksenberg's Camturo was strongest in the stretch as the Arturo 6 year old driven by Morgan notched a 1:53 lifetime mark winning the other $17,000 distaff division. Midriff (George Dennis) got up for second with Miss MacKintush (Eddie Davis Jr.) getting show money.

Bob Larrimore's Bea St., with Ross Wolfenden in the bike in a $14,500 4-&-5-year-old mares pace, came on in the stretch to overtake Maremma Hanover (Morgan) and post a 1:54.2 career best in a time. Wicked Rhymes (Mike Cole) raced evenly to finish third. (Dover Downs)
