Share The Delight shares with SRF

August 14, 2008 Send To A Friend  | Print View

When 3-year-old pacer Share The Delight and driver John Campbell finished third at 25-1 in the $1.1 million Meadowlands Pace on July 19, it felt like a win to his owners, Andrew Cohen, Joseph Faber, Harvey Nagler, Lorne Polger and Ed Cohen. The mile came one week after Share The Delight won an elimination for the Pace.

“We were so happy with him and with how John Campbell stuck with him, even though he didn’t have to,” said Cohen, who is the full-time CBS News chief legal analyst and legal editor for the network's television, radio and online platforms and harnessracing.com's First Over blogger. “And the way John took care of him in the Meadowlands Pace made us want to do something to honor his commitment to Share The Delight. We know how involved John and his wife Paula are with SRF, we decided that the best way to say ‘Thank You’ was to support it too.”

Cohen was already an SRF member, but now all of Share The Delight’s owners have pledged to make a donation every time the colt does well.

“We felt it was the right thing to do,” said Cohen.

Share The Delight’s next start is in the $500,000 Battle of Brandywine at Harrah’s Chester on Sunday, Aug. 17. (with files from SRF)
