The rain-dulled track set the stage for rather routine victories by Perfect Union (1:50.4) and Shark Gesture (1:51) in the two Bluegrass divisions for 3-year-old pacing colts Saturday at The Red Mile.

After passing the halfway point in :54.2 and the three-quarter mark in 1:22.4 in the second division, Shark Gesture turned back challenges by Jandj Art and Dave Panlone in late stretch to win. Trained by Erv Miller, Shark Gesture won for the fifth time in 10 starts this year and posted his third straight score at The Red Mile.

Mark MacDonald fired Wiggle Out Of This away from the gate quickly from post nine and had the lead before the first quarter was clicked off in :27.4. Unlike the first division, there was plenty of action in the opening half as the lead changed hands, going to Cactus Creek and Armbro Dynamic before George Brennan took control with Shark Gesture.

Little Brown Jug runner-up Cactus Creek finished fourth while Armbro Dynamic, second in a Jug elim, faded to sixth. Early pacesetter Wiggle Out Of This finished last in the field.

In the first division, driver David Miller sent Perfect Union to the top from post nine and they were never headed. The highly-regarded Took Hanover failed to threaten after starting from post two, finishing ninth, and Jug Preview winner Sandro Hanover managed a sixth-place finish. Scootin Delight finished second while Western Guy was third.
