She's So Hot sets Hawthorne mark

James and Donna Crebs She’s So Hot established a new Hawthorne track record Wednesday night when she won her second consecutive leg of the Broadway Tax Series in 1:52.4, knocking four-fifths of a second off the old 2-year-old filly mark of 1:53.3 set by Loyal Opposition in 2002.

 

Dave Magee drove the home-bred ICF daughter of Richess Hanover to her 3 1/2-length victory in Wednesday’s sixth race. The Rick Schrock trainee had won her previous two Hawthorne starts in 1:53.4, just a tick behind the track’s freshman filly standard.

 

Next up for She’s So Hot is the $78,500 Broadway Tax final on Saturday, Aug. 4, one of eight state-bred championships to be decided on Hawthorne’s Night of Champions.
