Sentbytheangels is a bridesmaid no more. After back-to-back second place finishes in the Fillies and Mares Open, the classy mare got it right on Sunday afternoon at Saratoga Raceway. Ryan Anderson was in to drive the 8-year-old mare for his father, trainer Joe Anderson. Back in March, Anderson came to Saratoga for the first time and the 28-year-old reinsman guided Sentbytheangels to a first-over win, in 1:56 In Sunday's 10th race, Anderson committed first-over again with the favorite and benefited from a lot of early speed. Bet down to 1-5, Sentbytheangels wrested control away from the leader at the three-quarters, and sealed the deal behind a :28 final quarter. Chausettes Blanche was a strong second, as she was only a length away from the winner, while the rest of the field was several lengths back. An earner of more than $617,000, lifetime, Sentbytheangels has two wins and two seconds in four starts in the Saratoga features this year. (Saratoga)
