Showherthemoney overshadowed her more heralded stablemate Not Enough in romping to a 7 ¾-length victory in the $252,700 Nadia Lobell for 3-year-old filly pacers Monday night at The Red Mile. Driven by Luc Ouellette, Showherthemoney scored in a lifetime-best 1:49 while the heavily-favored Not Enough settled for third behind runner-up Precious Stone. The time equaled the world mark for sophomore filly pacers, set earlier this year by Not Enough while winning the Mistletoe Shalee at the Meadowlands.

Mark MacDonald sent the 2-5 favorite Not Enough to the lead but shortly after the opening quarter of :27.1 was reached, Matt Kakaley sent Dingle Bay to the front. MacDonald willingly yielded, and Dingle Bay reached the half on top in :53.3. At that point the pace slowed, but MacDonald remained tucked in second with the odds-on choice.

Ouellette then tipped Showherthemoney from third and the daughter of Cam’s Card Shark first rushed past her stablemate (Showherthemoney was the second choice on the toteboard at 4-1 as she and  Not Enough were uncoupled in the betting) and then Dingle Bay, opening up distance over the field with every stride.

After reaching the three quarters in 1:22, Showherthemoney paced home in :27 to draw clear of her competition and notch her sixth win of the year in 15 starts. As MacDonald searched for room on the inside behind a fading Dingle Bay, Peter Wrenn rallied 37-1 Precious Stone to runner-up honors. MacDonald was finally able to find a seam in midstretch to salvage third-place money with Not Enough in the field of 12.

Owned by Bulletproof Enterprises, Showherthemoney had been trained by Bjorn “Bernie” Noren for most of the year, including to her win in the $175,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes final at the Meadowlands. But she was transferred to trainer Tracy Brainard earlier this month and has now notched two straight wins in as many starts in her new barn; she won a Shady Daisy division at Freehold on Sept. 7 as well.

Showherthemoney is out of the $1.4-million winning mare Stienam’s Place, and is a half sister to the currently undefeated 2-year-old Put On A Show, who recently won the She’s A Great Lady final. Showherthemoney increased her seasonal earnings to more than $325,000 with her Nadia Lobell win.
