Shu Hanover in 1:48.3

Shu Hanover paced three wide through the first turn en route to a :26.3 opening quarter, relinquished the lead on the backstretch then rallied up the pylons in deep stretch to score a 1:48.3 victory in a $30,000 conditioned pace at the Meadowlands Saturday night.



Shu Hanover, who swept the Fox Sports Net Series in his last three starts, relinquished his lead to Basil Hanover and Brian Sears going to the half and was locked in by the first-over Town Champion and Eric Ledford as the field passed the three quarters in 1:21.4. Shu Hanover still had nowhere to go in deep stretch until the inside opened up and he was able to put his head in front of Town Champion at the wire while Basil Hanover finished third.



George Brennan was in the bike as Shu Hanver won his fifth in a row and eighth in 14 starts this year for trainer Ken Rucker and owners Jordon Sklut, the Centaur Stable and the Rucker Stable.



The time is the fastest of the year over a mile track and equals the fastest mile of the season set by Maltese Artist over Dover Downs' five-eighths mile track in the Pacing Classic.
