A unique world record was set at the Isle Casino & Racing at Pompano Park Friday as three foals, all mares and all from the same broodmare, Silver Cedar N, were winners on the same race program. The first winner was Silvers Luck ($3.80), a six-year-old mare by Falcon Seelster, who captured the 1st race pace in 1:54.4 for driver Andy Santaramo. She is trained and owned by Danny Rosario of Coral Springs. Diane Norris and Clifford Grundy bred her. Then in the 7th race pace, ICU Roller ($21.40) was the winner for owner/driver Wally Hennessey of Coconut Creek. ICU Roller is a five-year-old mare by Intrepid Seelster, who is trained by Dan Hennessey and was also bred by Diane Norris and Clifford Grundy. The third winning foal from Silver Cedar N was ICU N ($3.80), who captured the 9th race pace in 1:56.4 for driver Dan Clements. An eight-year-old mare by Camluck, Diane Norris of Pompano Beach and Clifford Grundy of Howell, MI own ICU N and she was bred by Mark Pittman. Silver Cedar N, a New Zealand bred mare that won $105,000 during her career at the race before retiring to the broodmare ranks, had nine foals, eight of which made the races. Velvet Eileen ($3.40) was the pocket-rocket Friday for driver Wally Hennessey, scoring an easy two and one-quarter length triumph in the 5th race $12,000 winners-over mares pace feature in 1:53.4. Taking the early lead from the start, Velvet Eileen was beaten to the opening quarter mile in :27.1 by Hypnotize (Dan Clements), who then led the field past the half mile in :55.3 and then the three-quarters in 1:25 despite pressure in the backstretch from Wilma Hall (Bruce Ranger) who had come up first-over. But as the field started down the home stretch, Hennessey moved out from the live cover with Velvet Eileen and the duo pulled away from the field. Hypnotize held for second place with Mary Artman (Andy Santaramo) third. It was the third win this year for Velvet Eileen. Owned by Rodney Lorenzo of Deerfield Beach, Ciro Gentile and the Pomtambo Stable of Boca Raton, Velvet Eileen is trained by Michile Lorenzo. Time To Scoot, a Florida-bred colt by Scoot Outa Reach from the On The Road Again mare, Nova Ruby, led from start to finish in a two-year-old qualifying race Friday morning in 2:03.2 for driver Wally Hennessey. Cutting fractions of :32.2, 1:04.1 and 1:35.1, Time To Scoot came home in :28.1 to win by three and three-quarter lengths. Gavino was second with Tough Chip third. Bred by Anthony Amante and Christine Garrity, Time To Scoot is owned by Amante Standardbreds, Inc. (Pompano Park)
