The three year old trotting divisions of the John Simpson Memorial stakes will be raced at Vernon Downs on Saturday, May 15 (box closes on Wednesday, May 12 at 9:00 AM) with the pacers set to go on Sunday, May 16 (box closes on Thursday, May 13 at 9:00 AM) at Tioga Downs.
The purse for both trotting races and the filly pace purses are estimated at $50,000, while the pacing colts purse will be $40,000E. These historic events are returning to New York after many years in the mid-west and will serve nicely as a prep for the NY Sired Empire Breeders Classic races scheduled for Memorial Day weekend.
