Sing Jesse Sing wore down the pacesetting Text Me and then held off Priority Photo to win the $387,000 Goodtimes Trot final Saturday night at Mohawk Racetrack. Driven by Jody Jamieson, Sing Jesse Sing's time of 1:53.3 was a new lifetime best.
Rock Hollywood, who started from post nine, was the early leader, but then Randy Waples sent the 8-5 betting favorite Text Me to the front. Text Me hit the halfway mark in :55.3 before Sing Jesse Sing came calling first-over. By the time the thee-quarter fraction flashed (1:26), Sing Jesse Sing was alongside Text Me and the race was on.
Priority Photo rallied three-wide in the homestretch to join the fray, with Windsun Galaxie, who started from post 10, also turning in a big burst of trot to finish third. Text Me held on for fourth money.
