Six for Two Sox

Return Home
November 02, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Virgil Morgan’s SS Two Sox won his sixth straight race and remained unbeaten at Colonial Downs with a 2 1/4-length victory in Wednesday’s featured eighth race. Morgan claimed SS Two Sox on Sept. 2 and the 4-year-old Firm Belief gelding has not tasted defeat since.

On Wednesday, SS Two Sox took control of the race leaving the backstretch and was able to relax on the lead. SS Two Sox paced the half in :55.1 but driver Jim Marohn Jr. was able to steal a soft third quarter around the turn and they turned for home with a 1 1/2-length lead after three-quarters in 1:24.1.

SS Two Sox was too strong in the stretch and won as he pleased in 1:51.4. Road To Fame closed well to get second and Firm Decision was third. (Colonial Downs)
