Bob Kinsey Jr. and William Oberle Jr.'s Sixteen Candles ($4.60, Kinsey) earned her sixth win of the year Tuesday in the $18,000 Mares Junior Open at Harrington Raceway. The Kinsey trainee settled third early behind pacesetter Bikini Bottom who set fractions of :27.1 and :55.2. Sixteen Candles begin to mount her attack on the backstretch approaching three quarters in 1:23.4. On the final turn she began to edge clear of Bikini Bottom and drew away by open lengths over Casino Bus, who closed for second, while Bikini Bottom held third. The win pushed Sixteen Candles over the $200,000 earnings mark in her career. Richard and Patricia Arndt's Rafaella Seelster ($32.40, Eddie Davis Jr.) won the Junior Open division in 1:54.
