Slots dead in Indiana

Any chance of a slots bill passing in Indiana has apparently died as a result of the revelation that an Indiana state senator has connections to Centaur, a part owner of Hoosier Park.



The Indianapolis Star made the revelation in a story last week, reporting that Sen. Jeff Drozda, R-Westfield, was hired to do marketing for a Centaur casino in Colorado.



Today the Star reports that senators asked Senate President Pro Tempore Robet Garton to take the slots bill off the table. He obliged, saying it was necessary to "protect the integrity of the Senate."
