Snow Angels at Big M

Heavenly Beauty and Enhance The Night, both trained by Erv Miller, accounted for victories in two of the three $15,000 divisions of the opening round of the Snow Angel Series on Thursday night at the Meadowlands. The top 10 money-earners in the first two rounds of the series for 3-year-old pacing fillies will return for a $47,300 final on Dec. 14.

Heavenly Beauty [$3.60, $2.80, $2.20] driven by George Brennan, won the first division, the fifth race, in a lifetime best of 1:52 for the mile. It was the third straight victory for the daughter of Blissfull Hall and her 13th win in 25 starts this year. She's owned by Donald Glenny and William Ruggiero.

The leader at every call, Heavenly Beauty won by 1 3/4 lengths over Ima Sporty Lady [$4.20, $2.80]. It was another 2 3/4 lengths back to Leavea Smile [$2.80] in third.

Enhance The Night [$5.60, $4.20, $3.20], driven by Yannick Gingras, was a two-length winner over Fionavar Hanover [$6.80, $3.80] in the seventh race, the third of the three divisions. TJ’s Molly May [$5.40] was third by 3 1/2 lengths. The mile was clocked in 1:52.3.

Owned by Perfect World Enterprises of Old Westbury, New York, Enhance The Night posted her second straight win. The daughter of Western Ideal has finished in-the-money in 12 of 18 races this year.

Mysterious Dragon [$4.40, $3.20, $2.40], driven by Brian Sears, won the second division, the sixth race, in 1:53.1. Trained by Mark Silva, Mysterious Dragon races for Mervin & Kelly Chupp. The daughter of Dragon Again finished a half-length up on Spanish Rosey [$3.20, $2.40]. It was another 2 3/4 lengths to Wish Of A Lifetime [$2.60].

Mysterious Dragon now has five wins, four seconds and three thirds from 18 starts. (Meadowlands press release)
