Apere Hanover caught Artexpress in the final strides to win the first of three $25,000 Snow Angels divisions for 3-year-old filly pacers on Thursday night at the Meadowlands. Artexpress, a 17-1 shot, led the field at every call but could not hold off the late run of the 6-5 favorite and driver Brian Sears. Apere Hanover notched her sixth win in 19 starts this season with a 1:54.3 clocking. She paid $4.40. Michelle's Idea never left the pylons en route to third. Veteran horseman Joe Pavia Jr. co-owns the daughter of The Panderosa-Appleonia with Dennis Young and Steven Held. Monte Gelrod is conditioning the filly for Pavia, who shifted his tack to Pompano Park in Florida for the winter. Despite early road trouble, EQ Three held on to win the second Snow Angels division in 1:53.4 for driver David Miller and trainer Ken Rucker. Ramona Disomma picked up the place check and Natalie was in the show spot. In the fastest of the three events, Danika Hanover romped to a six-length win in 1:52.4 for Mike Vanderkemp and Kenny Kidd. Honey Dreams finished second and Stacked Deck was third. (Meadowlands)
