Snow White proved she is back on her game with a dominating win in her $25,000 Delvin Miller Memorial Trot Elimination Friday at the Meadowlands in Parked around the first turn, Snow White set leisurely fractions of :28.4 and :57.1 before Saorse and Louis Baudron pulled from the pocket to challenge at the three-quarter pole. While not making much headway in the challenge, Saorse gamely held on for second. Winkys Magik (Yannick Gingras) sat third most of the mile and that’s where she finished. “I was holding my breath there for quite a while,” trainer Kevin Lare said. “We had some issues, done nothing but work hard all week long…we just done our homework and so far it’s paid off. I think we still have some homework to do, I don’t think she’s 100% yet. But let’s do it again this week and hopefully we got a better horse next week. “I think with out a doubt she wants to race…it just goes to show you what a world champion she is and what a horse she wants to be. And she is all race horse.” The fastest and richest two-year-old trotter of all time, Snow White made just her second start of the year, after two qualifiers, for owners North State Street Stable, Harness The Power and Jerry Silva. In her first start of the year, when Snow White jumped off stride, she was beaten by the winner of the first Miller elim, One Tough Lass. With minimal urging, One Tough Lass and Tim Tetrick took the first elim in 1:54.2. No Pain No Gain (David Miller) and Diana Hall (Ron Pierce) battled it out after the :28 first quarter to a :57.3 half. Favored Lantern Kronos went off stride going to the half. One Tough Lass and Tim Tetrick watched it all play out, sitting in fourth, then pulled three wide around the last turn. Posting a :27.4 last quarter, One Tough Lass won by two and three-quarter lengths over Diana Hall and No Pain No Gain who finished second and third respectively. “I just wanted to sit close,” Tetrick said. “And luckily I got Pierce to pull Diana Hall down the backside, gave me a great trip. (This was a) great confidence builder for next week.” Ross Croghan trains One Tough Lass who is by Muscles Yankee out of the Pine Chip mare Timberlassie. Owned by Jon Erdner of Along The Way (Mike Lachance) & Lindy’s Heiress (Andy Miller) clinched entries into the final with their fourth and fifth place finishes. From the second elim, Creamy Mimi (Brian Sears) & Celebrity Tribute (Tim Tetrick) round out the field of ten that advance to the $350,000 final on July 11.
