One week after she broke stride in her elimination, Snow White trotted to a 1:57.4 victory in the $652,950 Goldsmith Maid final, but the filly didn't look as pretty as she has in previous victories.
AFter the race driver John Campbell confirmed that Snow White became rough gaited and he struggled to hold her together.
Nevertheless, Snow White was much better than her rivals, especially since her top foe, Bella Dolce, broke stride at the start. Campbell moved Snow White toward the front, then briefly allowed Yannnick Gingras to occupy the point with Timeless Winner before re-taking command.
Snow White hit the halfway mark and :57.4 and made it through the last turn before opening up several lengths on Timeless Winner, who held on to take second but was 12 1/4 lengths back.
Snow White now has 10 wins in 12 starts for trainer Kevin Lare. The filly by Self Possessed is owned by the North State Street Stable, Harness The Power and Jerry Silva. Silva purchased an interest in the filly just last week.
