Solvalla holds card sponsored by Menhammar Stud

Margareta Wallenius-Kleberg’s Menhammar Stud was the sponsor of the weekly racing card Thursday at Solvalla, which had many classy races, and the Wallenius Cup for 3-year-old fillies had an American winner as the sensational filly, Bring Me Luck U.S. (Kadabra-Polyester Hanover by Lindy Lane) won it wire to wire.

Bring Me Luck U.S. is trained by Kari Lähdekorpi and driven by Stefan Persson, who purchased her in 2006 at Harrisburg. She was timed in a mile rate of 1:59 for the 1,640 meters. This was her 13th win in 16th starts in 2007/2008.

The 2-Year-Old Prize of Menhammar Stud had an upset winner in Cashmere, a Swedish-bred daughter by Tagliabue and out of Corrs by Tibur (she a sister to world-record trotter Naglo). Cashmere was timed in a mile rate of 2:03.4 for the 1,640 meters.

There were a lot of U.S-bred in the field with Howell Mountain (Cantab Hall-Deux de Mai) and Zacile Boko (Muscles Yankee-Andiamo) earning checks. Favorite Yankee T.L. (Cantab Hall-Taurus Lady) made a break involved in the battle for win and Lights On Broadway (Broadway Hall-Electric Victory) was also out of the money.

All these American-bred trotters are 2-year-old winners earlier in Sweden.

The richest of the sponsored races (about $30,000 to the winner), the Big Noon Trophy, was a wire-to-wire success for the Italian-bred Lily Kronos (Varenne-Beauty America by Pine Chip) for Lutfi Kolgjini, who did not give the favorites, Adrian Chip (Andover Hall) and Marshland a chance.

Lily Kronos was timed in the new Swedish record for foreign-bred 3-year-old fillies of 1:57.4 for the 1,640 meters.

Thursday night at the Gevle-track, the E3 Revenge was driven with almost $50,000 to the winner and Conrads Epilog (Rite On Line-Karenina Lobell by Speedy Crown) was a wire-to-wire winner.

The small colt has earlier been the winner of the E3 Sprinter final worth $100.000. He won easy for Johan Untersteiner and trainer Roger Walmann. He was timed in 2:02.1 over 2.140 meters and has earned over $200,000 in 2008 as a 3 year old.

Knockout Rose (Express Ride-Blushing Rose by SJ's Photo) was second and Traveling Man (Supergill-Kimberly Lobell by Speedy Crown) third.
