Majestic Son was named Woodbine Entertainment Group 2006 Horse of the Year Sunday night at its award dinner at Mohawk Racetrack. A 3-year-old trotter, Majestic Son beat Triple Crown champion Glidemaster in three major events this year, including the Breeders Crown.
"At the beginning of the year, I had hoped that we would be in this position with him, but to hope for it and for it to be reality are two totally different things," said trainer Mark Steacy.
Steacy also reiterated that his stable star will be returning to the races as a 4-year-old in 2007.
