Abandoning his customary front-end style, Southwind Go Go Go followed cover nicely and scored a 24-1 upset in Wednesday’s $25,000 Preferred Handicap Pace at The Meadows. Although he had won two of his last three starts with cozy pocket trips, Southwind Go Go Go ducked for Tony Hall, falling 6 lengths behind at the half. But the 9-year-old Grinfromeartoear-Radiant Rachel gelding enjoyed his second-over trip, nosing out Armbro Billow at the wire in 1:52.1. Valentowner, the 8-5 favorite, finished a close-up third. Kris Rickert trains and Dale Wareham owns Southwind Go Go Go, who notched his 16th victory in 2009-2010 and extended his career bankroll to $280,495. (The Meadows)
