So You De Vie and driver George Brennan were content to sit in the pocket until the stretch and then overtake Littlemscantbwrong to win the $100,000 New Jersey Sire Stakes Championship Final for three-year-old trotting fillies Thursday at Freehold Raceway.
The daughter of Yankee Glide trotted the mile in 1:58.4, winning by a length and three-quarters over trainer-driver Per Henriksen and Littlemscantbwrong, also sired by Yankee Glide. Finishing third was Susquehanna Belle (Windsong’s Legacy).
With the $50,000 winner’s share of the purse, So You De Vie more than doubled her 2009 purse earnings to $94,516 and $99,856 for her career. It was her third victory in 12 starts this year for the Joie De Vie Farm of Jobstown, NJ. The winning trainer was Oyvind Hegdal. (NJSS)
