Special Report drew an inside post (two) and enjoyed a two-hole trip before finding clear sailing in the homestretch and pacing to a 1:51.4 victory in the $390,000 George Morton Levy Memorial final Saturday night at Yonkers Raceway.

Driver Larry Stalbaum decided to take a two-hole trip, but kept the fast-leaving Took Hanover, who started from post six, parked through the first turn, which resulted in a :26.2 opening panel. Tarver Hanover was third at the pylons while Panaramic Art, the 6-5 betting choice, was fourth.

The field was single file when Took Hanover and Greg Merton hit the half in :54.1, but as he paced out of the turn George Brennan tipped to the outside to take his shot with Panaramic Art. Panaramic Art pulled alongside Took Hanover and applied pressure to the three-quarters in 1:22.2, and when Took tired and drifted out in the homestretch, Stalbaum shot up the gap with Special Report.

Took Hanover faded while Mypanmar, driven by Tim Tetrick, rallied for second, with Panaramic Art holding on for third.

Special Report now has six wins and six seconds in 15 starts this season for owner Hugo Iodice of Bayonne, NJ. The 6-year-old gelded son of Keystone Raider is trained by Kim Asher. His earnings for the season stand at $454,680.
