Spice Queen remained on fire, extending her winning streak to seven with a 2:00.1 tally in the $26,800 opening leg of the New Jersey Sire Stakes for 3-year-old trotting fillies on Thursday at Freehold Raceway.

In a wire-to-wire performance, Spice Queen [$2.20, $2.40, $2.10] drew off to a 3 1/2-length victory over Chez Lucie [$7.20, $2.10].  Batbreaker [$2.10]  was third.

Spice Queen, driven by David Miller and trained by Erv Miller, annexed the $85,000 Helen Smith Final in her prior start.

A 3-year-old bay daughter of Yankee Glide out of The Big Enchilada, Spice Queen is a perfect seven-for-seven in 2007 and the winner of seven of nine lifetime outings.  She has earnings of $72,770 for brothers Norman Smiley  and Gerald Smiley.

In the $27,400 first division of the NJSS, carded as the fifth race, the victory also went to a daughter of Yankee Glide, Keystone Celeste [$23.40, $10.00, $7.00] who held on for a neck victory over Victoria Volo [$3.40, $2.80].

Keystone Celeste, who picked up her sixth win in 12 starts this year, trotted the mile in 1:58.2.  She is trained, driven and owned by Todd Schadel. (NJSS press release)
