Delaware Gov. Jack Markell signed the recently-approved sports betting bill Thursday morning which will allow the state’s racetracks to offer sports betting and table games in addition to the slots already offered. Dover Downs, Harrington Raceway and Delaware Park Thoroughbred track are expected to begin sports wagering in about three months and have the table games such as blackjack, poker, craps and roulette in operation in no more than six months. Dover Downs CEO Ed Sutor was quoted as saying the track may operate its sports betting system out of the site’s simulcast area before moving into a currently empty restaurant in the casino. The three racetracks will now meet with the Controller General’s Office and Department of Finance and have 75 days to agree on regulations for the tables games and the divisions of revenue. They will also be deciding on whether to limit the amount of wagers that can be placed as well as restrict the variety of table games to be offered. They will then report back to the state’s General Assembly, which will vote on the regulations.
