The best was saved until last as Redhot’s Memory, the last yearling to enter the sales ring at the Redhot’s Memory is a Sportsmaster full sister to Hot N Sporty p,2, 1:50.2 ($330,925) and a half sister to last year’s top freshman pacing filly She’s So Hot p,2, 1:51.1 ($221,091). Walkington, however, did not leave the sale empty handed for Sawgrass Farms as he got the final bid of $65,000 for the next-to-last yearling, Rocknroll Fever, a colt from the first crop by 2005 Horse of the Year Rocknroll
The highest priced trotting-bred yearling was Six Figure Dreams, a filly by Kadabra consigned by Fox Valley Standardbreds which was purchased by Mystical Marker Farms and Mike Anderson for $41,000. Despite the two high-priced yearlings to conclude the sale, the figures for the sale were down compared to last year. The sale sold 125 yearlings for $1,243,450 and a $9,948 average, which was down 13.8 percent from last year’s $11,538 average.
