July 27, 2012 | Print View

Seats are still available for the first Hambletonian Charity Poker Tournament to be held Wednesday, Aug. 1 at Il Villaggio Restaurant in Carlstadt, N.J.  Proceeds from the event will benefit the Standardbred Retirement Foundation and the Harness Racing Museum and Hall Of Fame.

The poker tournament buy-in is $100 and includes drink tickets. The chip leader will receive a three-night, four-day trip for two to Las Vegas, courtesy of Roberts Communications, which includes round-trip airfare, first-class hotel accommodations, show tickets to different productions and a $300 per day dining credit. The runner-up will receive an IPad, while third-place prize is an ITouch.

Tickets may be purchased online for the poker tournament and the Hambletonian Casino Night dinner through Ticket Leap at the following link: http://srf.ticketleap.com/2012hambletoniancasinonight/. Advance registration for poker is strongly recommended, as seats are limited. To reserve a spot in the tournament, purchase a ticket online or email admin@srfmail.com. The tournament begins at 6 p.m. A dinner ticket is not required to play poker.

Casino Night dinner tickets are $125 per person and include dinner, dessert, open bar, music and dancing and $50 in casino chips. Additional casino chips may also be purchased through the night. Dinner and open bar begin at 5:30 p.m. Walk-ups are welcome. The unique list of prizes includes tickets to a 2012 Yankees game in Brian Cashman's suite, with food and beverage and a signed baseball.

The Hambletonian Charity Committee would like to thank dinner sponsor Fran Azur, as well as the following major sponsors: Marc Goldberg, Arden Homestead Stable, The Stallions of Blue Chip Farms and Ted Gewertz and Clair Chappell. The committee also wishes to acknowledge table sponsors A Rocknroll Dance, Casie Coleman Racing Inc, Noel Daley Stable, Daniel Dube, Freehold Raceway, Yannick Gingras, Marc Goldberg, Joe Grano, Hambletonian Society, Marion Farms, Meadowlands Racetrack, Andy Miller, David Miller, Roberts Communications, Schindler Elevator, Ray Schnittker, Sportech Racing, LLC, George Teague Racing, Tim Tetrick, Tioga Downs and Vernon Downs.
