Tompkins-Geers action for 3 year olds took place at Scioto Downs Saturday night and the filly pace produced the closest of finishes as Heavenly Beauty won by a neck in 1:54.4 over Fionavar Hanover and Don’t Blame Her, who finished in a dead heat on the wire.

Heavenly Beauty, a daughter of Blissfull Hall, posted her ninth win in 15 starts th is season for owners Donald Glenny and William Ruggiero. Scott Cox trains the filly while Greg Grismore, who has been the filly’s regular driver, was in the sulky.

Fionavar Hanover had to mount a first-over rally for most of the last half mile and fell a neck shy of a win for the second straight start. Don’t Blame Her, who had also lost by a neck in her previous start, was on the wire with Fionavar Hanover.

In the first division for 3-year-old pacing fillies, Van Anna, a 3-year-old pacing filly, used the opportunity to post her third victory in six starts this year, and the pacing colt Ivegotwhatuneed scored in 1:52.2..

Van Anna, a filly by champion Ohio sire Nobleland Sam, rallied in the stretch drive to win by a neck over CC Stacy.

Danny Collins trains Van Anna for owner Bob Kauffman, who also bred the filly. She has seven wins in 14 career starts.

Ivegotwhatuneed, a gelded son of Givemewhatineed out of the stakes-winning filly Maudlin Hanover, turned in a big first-over rally to win the $44,600 event for 3-year-old male pacers. The win was Ivegotwhatuneed’s second in 17 starts this season for owner Southwind Farm and trainer Mickey Burke.

Also, American Pacific, a son of American Winner owned by breeder Bob Key, earned his second victory in 12 starts this season with a 1:58.4 win in Tompkins Geers action. Ray Paver drove the colt for trainer Rich Gillock.
