Symphony In Motion made a late sweep on the outside to capture the $69,400 Jersey Girls final Thursday night at the Meadowlands. With Brian Sears in the bike, Symphony In Motion defeated Real Velocity by one-half length to win in a new stakes record of 1:51.4. Fiery Buckeye finished a length back in third. Symphony In Motion paid $5.60.
Symphony In Motion has now won seven of nine starts in 2008 for owners Carol Demarch of Springfield and Joseph Jannuzzelli of Cream Ridge. The 4-year-old daughter of Bettor’s Delight has won two Winter Series for trainer Larry Remmen.
“She got injured as a 2 year old and we had a lot of high hopes for her,” said owner Jannuzzelli. “I want to thank my trainer and my partner for sticking with me and we’re very happy with her. She’s in a big race in Chester but she’s going to get a couple weeks off.”
There was a lengthy inquiry in the first turn when several horses banged wheels in tight quarters but there were no violations. (Meadowlands)
