Starsel made it two in a row romping to a 1:562 victory in the $26,000 Open trot over a sloppy track on Wednesday at Dover Downs, while Tony Morgan collected another quartet of winning drives.

Starsel duplicated his first win last week for Glenn Del Russo, Charles Dombeck and trainer-driver Daryl Bier this time scoring a 1:56.2 triumph in the week's top trot. Bier left quickly with the Angus Hall-Super Sally gelding and after taking the lead was in control the rest of the mile. Allmar Surprise, the only female among the eight starters was second best for Vic Kirby. Joey The Jet JT got up for third with Tom Jackson driving. The win was the 29th lifetime for the 6 year old and pushed his career earnings to $412,125.

Mach Express N, a 5-year-old Mach Three-Zeta Jones gelding, made a successful North American debut for owner Joe Muscara in an $11,500 male pace with Mike Cole driving a 1:56.2 victory. Mac Martian (Kirby) finished second. Jimenys Star (Jackson) was third.

Joel Halpern's Jaccar N led off the program with a 1:54. score in an $11,400 male pace. Morgan drove the In The Pocket-Smooth Gretna gelding trained by Tim Crissman to his first win of 2009.

Hot Lips, owned by George Delphon, came on strongly in deep stretch for Ross Wolfenden to post a 1:58 victory in an $11,000 mares pace. Indeman (Corey Callahan) was the place horse. R Jacki (George Dennis) captured third money.

It was a milestone night for 20-year-old driver Blake Baker driving Seboomook Warrior for owners Vicki Givens and Sharon White, in a $7.500 Delaware claiming pace. The veteran WRH-Lay It On Down gelding closed with a rush to score a 13-1 victory. It was young Baker's first career win in only his seventh race. (Dover Downs)
