St. Elmo Hero lengthened his undefeated streak to 22 wins in the $20,000 second leg of the Complex Series Saturday night at Meadowlands Racetrack.
Driver Tim Tetrick and St. Elmo Hero surged up to take command around the opening turn and were never seriously challenged en route to victory in 1:50.1. Now three-for-three at the Meadowlands, St Elmo Hero looms the one to beat in the $65,000 Complex final next Saturday.
Charles Eustis III trains the son of Western Hero, who upped his career bankroll to $165,000. John Barnard claimed St. Elmo Hero, an unraced 4-year-old gelding, for a mere $8,000 out of his first career start on July 14, 2010 at Balmoral Park. (Meadowlands)
