October 31, 2008 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Whybabywhy used a strong first-over move to capture the $25,000 Filly & Mare Preferred Handicap trot Thursday at The Meadows in a career-best 1:55.3.

Sitting third down the backside, Whybabywhy unleashed an uncovered bid for Dick Stillings that carried her past the leader, Tom’s OK Lady. The daughter of Padre Hanover-Beechwood Miranda drew off to win by 1 3/4 lengths over Motherland. Just Asking charged through the “Lightning Lane” to secure the show spot.

Mark Goldberg trains Whybabywhy, who pushed her career bankroll beyond $100,000 for Steve R. McDaniel Jr.

Dave Palone drove four winners on the 15-race card. (The Meadows)
