Two halls of fame have tapped Dick Stillings and Dave Palone for induction.
Dick Stillings has been named to the Washington-Greene County Chapter of the Pennsylvania Sports Hall of Fame. Among his many accomplishments, Stillings won the 1987 Little Brown Jug with Jaguar Spur and the 1986 Adios with Barberry Spur. Dave Palone has been named to the Pittsburgh Chapter of the National Italian American Sports Hall of Fame. Palone, a four-time winner of the prestigious Harness Tracks of America Driver of the Year Award, is one of only three drivers in the history of North American harness racing with 12,000 wins. His induction is set for March 30 in Pittsburgh. John Marshall, vice president of racing for The Meadows, congratulated both men on their achievements. "Their selections are most appropriate," he said. "Dick Stillings and Dave Palone have excelled on the track, and they've served as effective ambassadors for harness racing off the track."
