Sons of Ontario Sire Stakes stalwart Striking Sahbra took two of three $38,182(C) Gold eliminations for 2-year-old colt and gelding trotters Thursday night at Mohawk Racetrack.
Andiron Springs (1:58.4) for Trevor Ritchie and B Strike Three (1:58.4) for Rick Zeron, both offspring of Striking Sahbra, were victorious while Pizzazzed, a son of Kadabra, took the other split for trainer-driver Roger Hammer in 1:58.3. Pizzazzed was perhaps the most impressive of the three as he overcame a gapped-out start from the trailing post 11 to score over the pocket-sitting Mr Mission.
