March 23, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Flo Found George, Golden Falcon N and Hypnotize, all separated by a neck in their last encounter, return for the Friday feature at Pompano Park, a $10,000 Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace.

Owned by the Booff Stable and Steve Goldberg of Glen Ridge, N.J., Flo Found George won for the first time this year when taking the Mares Open Handicap on March 16 in a tight win photo, prevailing by a head in 1:53.2.

That victory marked the first trip to the winner’s circle this year for the stakes-winning daughter of Dream Away, who won seven of 14 starts in 2006, highlighted by victories in the $113,423 Simcoe Stakes for 3-year-old fillies and the $67,500 Fan Hanover Stakes consolation, both at Mohawk Racetrack.

Flo Found George is listed as the 3-1 second choice in the morning line and will start from post seven with Andy Santeramo scheduled to drive.

Five-time seasonal winner Hypnotize starts from post six in the Friday feature for the ownership of Louis Diffenback, William Mack Jr., Lisa Diffenback and Jim Mattison, who also trains the mare.

Hypnotize came up on the third-place end of a three-horse win photo in her last outing, but was a powerful winner two starts back when prevailing by 4 ½ lengths in a lifetime-best 1:52.2 on March 2.

The daughter of Artiscape is looking for her sixth victory of the year and has been installed as the 2-1 morning-line favorite for the Friday feature. Regular pilot Joe Pavia Jr. will be at the controls.

Golden Falcon N nearly pulled a 37-1 shocker when missing by a head to Flo Found George in her last start. The 8-year-old daughter of Falcon Seelster has finished no worse than second in each of her last four appearances, and was a winner just two starts ago when taking a winners-over event in 1:54.1.

Owned by the Berry Stables of Staten Island, N.Y., Golden Falcon N will be driven from post three on Friday by Daryl Bier for trainer Paul Bernardo.

Maresey Doats, who crossed the wire fourth in last week’s Mares Open Handicap and has twice missed by a neck at this level, will also return for the Friday feature.

The 5-year-old daughter of Towner’s Creek will start from post five for the White Creek Stable of Dublin, Ohio, trainer Dan Hennessey, and driver Wally Hennessey.

Rounding out the field for Friday’s Fillies and Mares Open Handicap Pace is Townline Lily, an 11-time winner in 2006 with over $280,000 in career earnings; Wilma Hall, winner of the Mares Open Handicap on Jan. 5 in a lifetime-best 1:53.1; and Cape Cove Daisy, who exits a victory in 1:55.2.
