Only the photo-finish camera could separate the first three finishers in the $30,000 Preferred/Open Handicap Pace at Dover Downs Monday night, with Summer Camp holding on for a 1:51.2 victory. Also on the card, Matt Kakaley drove two winners and is now two away from 2,000 lifetime.

Summer Camp took the lead on the final turn then had to hold on for dear life as Southwestern Dream and Tim Tetrick made up a ton of ground in the stretch and Delivered From Zin and Corey Callahan stormed down the lane in a :28 final panel.

David Miller drove Summer Camp, a Rocknroll Hanover-Roman Art gelding, to his second Preferred win in four weeks for Baron Racing and VIP Internet Stable.

Ise The By Boy has come back to top form and showed it in the $23,000 Open Pace. Ron Pierce guided the Mach Three-Prince Lee Fiesta gelding trained by Eric Ell for owners Ken Wood, Bill Dittmar and Steve Iaquinta to his second straight victory, annexing a 1:51.1 decision. Arctic Warrior (David Miller) was a strong second. Fancyfreeshark (Jon Roberts) led early and held on for third.

Jolt remains unbeaten since being claimed early this year by trainer Johnny Waite. The altered son of Powerful Toy-Merciful Maddie made it four straight by turning back seven rivals in a field of eight starters in a $16,500 winners-over pace for males. McMurray Hanover (Corey Callahan) was next in front of Rusty’s All In (Ron Pierce).

Meet leader Corey Callahan drove Putnams Art to a 1:53.3 decision in a $16,500 pace for Mike Casalino and trainer Dylan Davis, who own the 4-year-old gelding by Southwind Balsam. The Pan Flamingo (Matt Kakaley) was runner-up with McElodian (George Dennis) the show finisher.

In another $16,500 event for younger male horses, after two near-miss second –place finishes, High Joltage turned it on in deep stretch to score a 1:53 triumph for trainer Ben Stafford and former Philadelphia Flyers’ stalwart Rick MacLeish. A four-year-old sired by Village Jolt-Mattdonna, it was the pacers first win of 2012. Bestinthebussiness (Tim Tetrick) and Colossal Cruiser (Ron Pierce) were second and third, respectively.

Joe Colosi’s Funny Deacon gave trainer Joe Hundertrpfund a second win in 1:52.3 to win a second $16,500 Male Pace win. The Full Of Fun-Precious Sarah gelding outlasted strong closer Eagle All (Ross Wolfenden) in the final strides. Art Off Illusion (Art Stafford Jr.) was a game third.

In a $30,000-$40,000 Claiming/Handicap pace, Segundo Hanover gave trainer Josh Green and driver David Miller three wins each as the Cams Card Shark-Sparkling Hanover gelding received a front-end drive to victory. Fissato (Art Brennan) was second with Ooh Dear Sam (Tony Morgan) the third-place finisher. (Dover)
