Swedish Crown elims held

The Breeders Crown semifinals for the Swedish 3-year-old colts and fillies were raced Sunday and Monday night with the three on top in each entering the finals on Nov. 18 at Axevalla. The purse in the finals are approximately $70,000. The four colt-division-winners were all impressive and the final will be an open event.

The Gigant Neo full brother Megaman Neo (Super Arnie-Clorita Lobell by Speedy Crown) could handle a bad post (8) and made it from the lead, timed in a rate of 2:00.3 over 2,140 meters for Erik Adielsson. Dig For Dollars (Tony Oaks-Good Golly by Mr. Drew) was also used early, but withstood the challenges for Jim Oscarsson, timed in a rate of 2:00.1.

Timetosaygoodbye (Super Photo Kosmos-Baltic Tara by Baltic Speed) had a tough trip outside the leader most of the way for Fredrik B. Larsson and was timed in 2:00.4 in a 5 1/2-length win. Glen Tilly (Super Tilly-Vici Tilly by Ultra Ducal) won the fourth semifinal with Orjan Kihlstrom in the sulky, timed in a rate of 2:01.4.

9 R.R.S.Forgold (Good As Gold) - Jorgen Westholm 10 Dad's Launcher (Gallant Baron) - Roger Walmann
11 M.T.Buffet (Pine Chip) - Tommy Hanné
12 Sillochnubbe (Good As Gold) - Tomas Malmqvist

Trainers Roger Walmann and Timo Normos had sucess in the filly semifinals, with each having three entries in the final.

The most impressive of the four winners were the two Erik Adielsson/Stig H. Johansson-trained Foretta (Spotlite Lobell-Miss Brandy by Brandy Hanover) and Quantum Joyride (Express Ride-Nanette Hornline by Victor Victor) timed in 2:00.1 and 2:03, respectively.
