March 29, 2007 Send To A Friend  | Print View

Getting a perfect garden spot trip throughout the entire mile, Rosie’s Sweetie and reinsman Keith Kash Jr. won the $8,500 Fillies and Mares Open Pace Wednesday at Buffalo Raceway in a season’s best time of 1:56.4, to register her fourth win of the season for owner Todd Rosenberg of South Euclid, Ohio.

Leaving from pylons in the field of five, Rosie’s Sweetie and Kash let eventual second-place finishers Miss Groovie To and driver Ron Beback Jr. cut the fractions in the race, :28.2, :57.2, and 1:27.1 to the three-quarter pole. A :29.2 last quarter-mile was all that was needed to beat the pacesetters by three-quarters of a length. She’s Ruffstuff (Jack Flanigen) came in the show spot.

The $4,250 share of the winning purse put Rosie’s Sweetie’s 2007 bankroll at $19,035 and $109,643 lifetime. She paid $5.40 to win going off as favorite in the betting. Kash is also the trainer. (Buffalo)
