Tactician fastest in freshman KYSS action

Kentucky Sire Stakes action began at The Red Mile on Monday night. Two year olds were on the track, with a single split going postward for the filly pacers and a pair of divisions for the filly trotters, colt trotters and colt pacers.
 
Feels Good, a daughter of Mr. Feelgood out of the Camluck mare Maryanne Supreme, won the $30,000 KYSS division for freshman filly pacers with a 1:55.1 effort, just edging out runner-up Joe's Miss Daisy. Jim Rattray drove the winner to her first victory in three starts for trainer Noel Daley and owner Joe Hudon Jr. of Acton, Ont.
 
Social Queen scored a 2:00.3 victory in the first $15,000 KYSS division for 2-year-old filly trotters. Dan Shetler was in the sulky for the 17-1 upset, defeating odds-on choice Louanda Dream by 1 1/2 lengths. A daughter of Daguet Rapide out of the Vison's Pride mare Destiny's Cision B, Social Queen is trained and owned by Marie Ortolan Bar of Knowlton, Que. The win was her first in five starts.
 
The second split for filly trotters went to Screaming Awsome and driver Mike Lachance in 1:59.3. Winning for the fifth time in seven attempts, the time was a career best by nearly five seconds for the daughter of Like A Prayer out of the Garland Lobell mare Twilight Time. SHe is owned and trained by Buck Sprinkle.
 
Dave Magee directed Audtion to a 2:00 victory in the first of two $15,000 KYSS divisions for freshman colt and gelding trotters. The gelded son of Valley Victor out of the Crowning Point mare Hot Dog Mustard is trained by Robert Taylor and owned by Rietveld, Rietveld, Dixon and Taylor. The win was his second in five career starts, which also includes a second-place finish in a Review division at Springfield, Ill.
 
JB Oui Oui, with Jean Dubois driving for trainer Henrik Hollsten, won the second KYSS split for first-year male trotters with a 1:58.4 effort. The son of Daguet Rapide out of the Lindy Lane mare Jolie Reve is owned by Reve Avec Moi Dreamwithmestable, with the win his first in five starts.
 
Freshman colt and gelding pacers wrapped up Monday's KYSS action in Lexington, with Visual Delight winning the first $15,000 split with a 1:56 effort for trainer-driver Mark Evers. A son of Art's Chip out of the Western Hanover mare Stylish Stride, Visual Delight is owned by Velocity Standardbreds of Lebanon, Ohio. The win was his second straight in two career attempts.
 
Magee scored a 1:54.3 victory with Tactician in the night's final KYSS event. A son of Mr. Feelgood out of the Western Hanover mare Western Cruise, Tactician is bred and owned by Brittany Farms and trained by Taylor.
