Tammibest, with Larry Stalbaum in the sulky, recorded a new life mark of 1:51.1 in winning the Wednesday night featured race at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs. In a race for $20,000-$25,000 claiming handicap fillies and mares pacers, Stalbaum quickly left from the seven post to grab the lead with Tammibest. The five-year-old mare, trained by Nicholas Surick, got to the opening split in 26.4, half in 55.4 and three-quarters in 1:23. Finishing second in the race was My Fanny (Eric Goodell) with third-place going to Princess Character (Joe Pavia Jr.). The win marked the fifth in 20 starts for Tammibest. Stalbaum later collected a win in Race 6 with Caerleon Hanover. This seven-year-old gelding also stopped the timer with a new life mark of 1:51, fastest of the night through nine races of the 16-race card. Jim McGuire trains Caerleon Hanover. Trainer Becky Zubkoff collected a training double early on when The Bull Stopshere won in 1:57 with David Ingraham while Smokey Yankee overcame the nine hole with Tony Morgan in the bike. The time was 1:59 for the nine-year-old gelding trotter.(Pocono)
