Published reports in Minnesota state that the Minnesota Horseman's Benevolent and Protective Association (MHBPA), which represents 1,500 Thoroughbred owners and trainers, has asked the state racing commission to revoke the gambling license of Running Aces Harness Park due to noncompliance of a state law requiring it to give three percent of money gleaned from card tables to the MHBPA. The MHBPA alleges that Running Aces was granted the gaming license with the stipulation of paying the three percent, but it stopped making the payments last August, putting it in noncompliance with the law. Running Aces officials issued a statement that reads in part: "it is unfortunate the Thoroughbred owners are wasting the Racing Commission's and taxpayers' time with a frivolous complaint."
