Southwind Tempo and Tim Tetrick dominated the C$35,000 Fan Hanover stakes elimination Saturday at Mohawk, handily winning in Getting away fourth to a :27.1 first quarter, Southwind Tempo pulled and rocketed past pace-setter Isabella Blue Chip and David Miller. Hana Hanover, who upset Southwind Tempo in the Mistletoe Shalee, pressured the filly going to the three quarters. But down the stretch Southwind Tempo opened up her lead to two and a quarter lengths to win with Tetrick sitting calmly in the bike. Tidewaterdragonfly and Ron Pierce finished second with Hana Hanover (George Brennan) holding on for third and Arts Fantasy (Tony Morgan) picking up fourth. Southwind Tempo proved the Misletoe Shalee was just a kink in her near spotless record where she is now has 16 wins in 18 lifetime starts (her only two defeats were second place finishes). “I think she bounced back really well, Steve (trainer Elliott) did a great job getting her back healthy,” Tetrick said. “She keeps doing exactly what I want her to do.” The top eight fillies from Saturday’s elimination race will join Lady Mattgalane and Michelle's Power in the C$718,600 Fan
