Temptress in Cour. Lady

October 11, 2006 Send To A Friend  | Print View

The connections of Jugette runner-up Art’s Temptress have put up a $10,000 supplemental fee to enter their 3-year-old filly in Northfield Park’s $120,000 Courageous Lady this Saturday, as owners Brittany Farms and Val D’or Farms and trainer Erv Miller look for a solid prep heading into the Breeders Crown later this month.

Brett Miller, a former Northfield driving champ, is expected to pilot the career winner of $283,985, although he is also listed to drive 6-1 Rosa Villa from the rail. Director of racing Gregg Keidel, who assembled a full field of nine for the race, assigned Art’s Temptress morning line odds of 3-5 after she drew post position two earlier today.

Caviart Sydney, who finished just behind Art’s Temptress in the $100,000 Bluegrass Stakes and the $296,000 Glen Garnsey Memorial at Lexington’s Red Mile, is the 7-2 second choice, based on her recent form and career earnings of $266,651. David Miller will make a return to Northfield to drive the Jim Arledge Jr. trainee who is owned by Robert Kauffman.

Here is the Courageous Lady draw:
1 Rosa Villa (Brett Miller) 6-1
2 Art’s Temptress (Brett Miller) 3-5
3 Caviart Sydney (David Miller) 7-2
4 Model A (D.R. Ackerman) 8-1
5 Van Anna (Chip Noble) 4-1
6 Beautinaful (TBA) 12-1
7 Heavenly Beauty (Greg Grismore) 9-2
8 CC Stacy (Aaron Merriman) 10-1
9 Allamerican Summer (Ryan Stahl) 15-1
