Overlooked Kellytuck Sophie pulled a 21-1 upset scoring a 1:53.1 victory in the $24,000 Mares Open Handicap pace on Tuesday at Dover Downs while I'm All In, one of Tim Tetrick's four winners, took the $20,000 Jr. Mares Open.
Jonathan Roberts found room along the passing lane to hustle Kellytuck Sophie past Yada Yada Yada A and Ross Wolfenden at the wire in the track's top distaff event of the week. Poppy Lustre N, handled by Tetrick, finished third in the Garrison finish. Owned by Graham Grace and M&W Stables and trainer Bib Roberts, Kellytuck Sophie left from the rail and stalked Yada Yada Yada A from the start. The Cam's Magic Trick 5 year old has now won $124,591 in her career.
Tetrick drove Tom Vine and Crystal Ball Stables' I'm All In to a 1:52.3 triumph in the $20,000 Jr. Mares Open sub-feature. It was the Cam's Card Shark 5 year old's second straight win and third in five starts with two seconds. Ain't Goin Back, with Ben Stafford Jr., was a close-up second. Riddlemethat, with Core Callahan driving, found room late to finish third. I'm all In has now won $148,342 lifetime.
In a card loaded with longshot winners, Pacific Illusion, off at 31-1, came from ninth at the half to roll past Boca Hanover (Ron Pierce) in deep stretch to get home in 1:53.3 in the first of two $15,500 female paces for Wolfenden's first of two wins. Tawny (Brad Hanners) took the third spot.
Art Stafford Jr. made a four-wide move at the top of the stretch on the way to a 1:53.3 win in the other $15,500 division. Poker Mom (Brandon Givens) was runner-up. Shesa Troublemarker (Pierce) was third.
Ken Wood's 19-1 Lady Best overcame starting from post 8 to notch a 1:54.3 victory in a $12,500 Mares pace. Plante took the Cambest 5 year old right to the front from the outside and led the route. Hihopes Suset (Tim Curtin) was three-quarter lengths back in second. Famed Artist (Jim King) finished third.
Steve Warrington took a step closer to his 5,000th win driving Parker Callahan's River Valley Belle to a 1:54.2 decision in an $11,500 Mares pace. Dee Dee King (Tony Morgan) and Jay Low (Wolfenden) were second and third, respectively.
Bill Emmons' Mattazuma zoomed around the final turn from fifth and overtook the leaders to post a 1:52.1 victory in the $25,000 claiming pace. Spicy Sport (Pierce) was second in front of Now That's Art (Givens). (Dover Downs)
