On the eve of the richest race in the history of Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs, the $301,032 Max C. Hempt Memorial, driver Tim Tetrick and trainer Carmine Fusco teamed to win five of the afternoon’s 12 races Friday. The duo’s first victory came in the second race as Four Starz Sue won his third in a row in 1:51.2. In the fourth race Pacific Blue Jean won for the second straight time in the identical clocking of 1:52.4. The third triumph came with Virtual Dream's 1:55 milein the seventh race, the mare’s first win of 2007. The day’s fourth win was with Candy’s Pool in a 1:52.4 mile in the 10th race. And the fifth score was in the next race with Whitesand View in 1:54.3. The five victories for Tetrick increased his national leading total to 426 while Fusco padded his lead in the Pocono trainers’ standing to 31. The five wins for Fusco was his best day at Pocono and matched his previous best. “I had five one day at Freehold,” said, and added that he won four on one program at The Meadowlands.
