Tim Tetrick has now earned $14,453,487 in purses this year, the second highest all-time amassed by a driver. Tetrick, who is chasing Brian Sears’ record $15,085,992 earned in 2005, surpassed Ron Pierce’s $14,439,087 in purse earnings last year. John Campbell is the only other driver to reach the $14 million level, having earned $14,184,863 in purses in 2001. Tetrick, who will turn 26 on Nov. 22, moved past Pierce into second on the all-time list when he finished fifth with Mypanmar in the $345,550 Bobby Quillen Memorial at Harrington Raceway on Monday night, earning a purse check of $17,275. Tetrick had 12 drives earlier in the day at Harrah’s Chester, traveled to Harrington where he arrived midway through the card, where he climbed into the sulky another seven times. Overall, his 19 drives on Monday resulted in purse earnings of $60,605. Tetrick has won 951 races so far this as he also chases Walter Case Jr.’s record 1,076 wins set in 1998. He is by far the busiest driver on the continent as he has had 3,702 mounts.
