Tim Tetrick became the third drive to reach 1,000 wins in a single season Friday afternoon, joining Walter Case Jr. (1,077 in 1998) and Tony Morgan (1,004 in 2006) in the exclusive club with a victory behind Blow Em Away in the fourth race at Mohegan Sun at Pocono Downs.
Tetrick, who turns 26 on Nov. 22, needs just 78 winners to set an all-time record. He recently became the sport's all-time single-season leader in purse earnings as he surpassed Brian Sears' record $15,085,992 amassed in 2005; he had 2007 earnings of $15,133,889 heading into Friday.
