That’s Justice and Phil Fluet got their redemption in the $15,000 Open Handicap pace on Sunday afternoon at Tioga Downs. Just a week ago the duo came across the wire first in the Open, but were disqualified and placed second due to a lapped on break at the wire. This week Fluet backed That’s Justice off the gate from post four and avoided the early battle to the quarter in 26.3. Heavy 2-5 favorite Where’s Waldo and Bruce Ranger were leaving from post five and made a break before the quarter leaving Paydaze A Comin and Fern Paquet Jr. on the point. Paquet took the field through fractions of 55.4 and 1:23.1 with Scotts Rolls Royce (Howard Parker) pressing the leader with a first over bid. Fluet swung That’s Justice three high off the last turn and brushed by the field with ease and cruised to victory in 1:51.3. It was the fifth win in twenty five seasonal starts for the 7-year old son of Village Jove-Power Persuasion, who is trained by Phil Fluet for Tim Lancaster of New Jersey. Phil Fluet posted a driving grand slam on the afternoon’s thirteen race card, while Jimmy Marohn Jr. tallied three driving victories. Tioga Downs’ pick six was unsuccessful once again and will yield nearly a $2,000 carryover next Sunday (July 18th) for races four through nine, with a guaranteed $6,000 pool.
